The Ontario Volleyball Association (OVA) is saddened to learn of the passing of Hall of Famer Renzo Milan, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 18, 2026, at Welland Hospital at the age of 79. A respected official, dedicated mentor and valued member of the volleyball community, Renzo leaves behind an extraordinary legacy spanning more than 45 years of service to the sport.
Renzo began his volleyball journey coaching elementary school teams and at the Catholic Youth Organization in Hamilton in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Recognizing the need for quality referees in the area, he earned his local officiating badge in 1977 and quickly progressed through the ranks, achieving his national-level qualifications in 1990. Throughout his career, he officiated at every level of the game, from local school competitions to Ontario Championships, Canada Games, national championships and international matches.
Beyond the referee stand, Renzo made significant contributions to the development of officiating across Ontario and Canada. He held numerous leadership positions, including OVA Provincial Officials Chair from 1997 to 2004, and served as a referee supervisor, course conductor and member of the Referee Development Team. In 2017, he joined Ontario Volleyball’s mentorship program, sharing his extensive knowledge and supporting the next generation of officials. His commitment to identifying and developing new referees helped strengthen the officiating community for years to come.
Renzo’s contributions were recognized through numerous OVA honours, including the 1986 Recognition Award, 1998 Achievement Award, 2002 Diane Woods Special Achievement Award and 2021 Officials Award of Merit. His induction into the OVA Hall of Fame in 2023 further recognized his lasting impact on the sport.
Outside volleyball, Renzo was a proud Teacher Librarian who inspired students through his love of literature and learning. Born in Italy, he immigrated to Canada in 1956 and built a life rooted in family, education and community. Known for his generosity, encouragement and ability to make others feel valued, he formed lasting friendships across generations.
The OVA extends its heartfelt condolences to Renzo’s wife, family, friends and the entire volleyball community. His legacy will live on through the countless officials he mentored, the matches he helped shape and the many lives he touched throughout his remarkable career.
He will be deeply missed.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Renzo’s life at a Funeral Mass on Friday, October 30, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 620 Rymal Road East, Hamilton, gathering to follow.

PakarPBN
A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.
In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.
The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
